Windows users: Upcoming changes to VPN client software

What work is being done?

An upgrade to new VPN hardware is expected to occur soon. VPN client software is what you use to connect to the Fermilab network from off site. A new version of VPN client software is required to work with the new hardware.

What is the impact to you?

If you have the latest VPN software--Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility--you should be able to connect to VPN with your Services account as usual.

If you do not have the latest client installed, when you connect to the VPN, your VPN client will automatically be updated before you are connected to the Fermilab network. This update will require your system to  be restarted after the installation is complete.

When will the work occur?

On or around October 9.

What do you need to do?

There is nothing you need to do to prepare for this upgrade.

If you have any questions about the VPN service or the upgrade, please contact the Service Desk.
