Road B closed Nov. 5-8—impacts access to FCC
Article: KB0011100 Published: 2013-10-29 Last modified: 2016-07-20

UPDATE Nov. 8, 11:50 a.m.:  The FCC main parking lot is now open. Road B will continue to be closed at Road A, and Road D remains closed, so you can now access the main parking lot using Road C. See the map below.

 WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Road B, the road to the east of Feynman Computing Center, will be closed to vehicles during repaving from Nov. 5-8. Road D, in addition to being closed in front of the new IARC facility, will also be closed east of Road A1 (the road that leads north away from Wilson Hall) with an exception for those parking at the FCC switchyard lot. During this time, foot traffic across B Road will be limited to a designated walking path, and alternate parking areas should be used.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?

Tuesday, Nov. 5 and Wednesday through Friday, Nov. 8 (weather permitting)

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?

The main FCC parking lot will be closed. See a list of alternative parking areas below.

There will be a designated walking path for foot traffic crossing Road B.

The Physics Research Equipment Pool (PREP) will be open as usual; however, designated parking for PREP visitors will be unavailable.

Taxi service for FCC will drop off and pick up in the overflow lot across Road B.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Most people will need to take an alternate driving route to FCC Nov. 5-8. See a map of alternate routes to FCC and parking areas below.

Parking for FCC will be available in the following areas (use the designated path for foot traffic to cross Road B):

  • FCC overflow parking lot (access lot from Road C from the east)
  • CHL lot (access lot from Road C from the east)
  • The switchyard lot on the walking path between FCC and Wilson Hall (traffic from Road D from the west will be restricted to switchyard lot)
  • The Industrial Center Building (access lot from Feldott Road from the north)
